An old house have required space for humanbeings. That time the roof of houses were made different materials like palm leaves, hay, coconut leaves etc. The middle time use clay tiles. It gives strength of roofs other than that materials. It gives strength and cooling of houses. 

      Then nowadays commonly used concrete roofs. Mainly flat and hipped roofs. Hipped roofs made more air circulation.In flat type roofs help upstair rooms build it.
